Watchtower Firearms Provides Type15M Rifles to the Lafayette, La. PD

The Lafayette, LA, Police Department has purchased 118 Watchtower Type 15M rifles, selected for reliability and performance in high-pressure situations. Equipped with advanced optics and weapon lights, the platform empowers officers to respond more efficiently during critical situations.

“As a veteran-owned company, Watchtower understands the demanding requirements for top-quality, reliable firearms needed by our military and law enforcement personnel,” said Garrett Lusk, Watchtower director of sales. “Our company has an unwavering respect for all who serve or have served our nation in the military or law enforcement, and we look forward to providing other law enforcement agencies with the finest firearms available today and in the years to come.”

The Watchtower Type 15M has a 16-inch, freefloat barrel with a 13.7-inch M-Lok-compatible handguard and four QD attachment points. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, it comes with a collapsible B5 Bravo stock. Overall length, depending on its position, ranges between 36.25 inches to 33 inches. Weight of the gun, without optic or accessories, is 6.1 pounds.

Jason Colosky, a former Raytheon executive and U.S. Marine, founded Watchtower firearms and is currently CEO. The company name comes from the military designation for the campaign to take Guadalcanal during World War II. The firm was officially founded in 2022. It manufactures its products in the United States from its headquarters in Spring, TX.

Last month the company filed for Chapter 11 protection—not the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy rumored on numerous internet forums that would lead to liquidation of assets and closure of the company. The move was a strategic one as the firm grows, according to Colosky, to reorganize and streamline the company’s internal operations and finances.

In the meantime, Watchtower continues to meet orders, pay employees and fulfill all financial obligations in a timely and businesslike manner. Delivery of 15Ms to the Lafayette Louisiana Police Department endorses this fact.
