First Look: MDT JAE Bag Rider Gen 2

Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) has just unveiled the latest iteration of its precision-rifle-chassis accessory, the MDT JAE Bag Rider Gen 2.

MDT’s JAE Bag Rider Gen 2 is designed to be compatible with the JAE Gen 4 and JAE Gen 5 rifle chassis. Originally designed by J. Allen Enterprises, this highly regarded precision-rifle-chassis system is also manufactured and supported by MDT itself. JAE-style chassis originally made a name for themselves not just due to the ergonomics and ability to facilitate positional shooting, but also because its design counts on tool less adjustability.

The MDT JAE Bag Rider Gen 2 fits on the bottom portion of the stock and provides a larger amount of lengthwise surface to support the rifle’s stock over a rear bag. Stabilizing the rifle’s rear end with a bag is crucial in precision shooting, especially when shooting from the prone or bench positions. This MDT-designed piece of equipment runs long and thin, as the thinness allows for the material of the rear bag to be squeezed around the bag rider in order to settle the rifle’s reticle during aiming.

MDT JAE Bag Rider Gen 2 Specifications:

  • Material: Hard-anodized 6061 series aluminum, black
  • Weight: 4 ounces
  • Length: 6.42 inches
  • Width: 1.28 inches
  • Height: 1.07 inches
  • Adjustment Measurements: .75 inch back and front

Features

  • Compatible with both the JAE-G5 and JAE G4 Chassis.
  • No rear overhang to interfere with length of pull or buttpad adjustments.
  • The bottom of the bag rider’s boat shape settles into shooting bags with ease and glides through when recoil is applied.

The new MDT JAE Bag Rider Gen 2 has an MSRP of $149. To learn more about the JAE Bag Rider Gen 2 stock compatible bag rider or other precision shooting accessories offered by MDT, visit mdttac.com.
