New Mid-Size Civivi Flipper Ready to Release

0

If you’re on the hunt for your next sub-$100 EDC knife fix, Civivi may have just the thing on the way. This is the Hyperpulse, a work-ready flipper hitting shelves in the near future.

The Civivi design team and their collaborators have been getting a little freaky with it lately. Look at the micro-karambit slipjoint Pyrus, an Ostap Hel joint, or, before that, the Pragma, which spiced up its basic work knife frame with a bottle opener/carabiner component. But the core of the Civivi experience lies in their fleet of simple, clean user designs – and such is the category into which the incoming Hyperpulse can clearly be sorted.

There are thumb studs on this in addition to the flipper

On offer with this one is a 3.5-inch spear point: clean, intuitive, effective. 14C28N is here, a recurring cast member in the Civivi steel catalog. It is a charismatic, well-balanced steel and, in the sub-$100 bracket especially, a well-respected performer. This one flips out with a spine-side flipper tab and locks up with the very well-represented button lock mechanism. Oh, and there’s also a dual-side thumb stud if you feel like kicking this one out with your thumb rather than your forefinger.

The handle, comprised of two slabs of aluminum, houses the button lock and the deep carry, reversible pocket clip – both scales are also host to matching machining embellishments: perforations small and big, the latter with further, crosshair-like detailing around them. The aluminum comes in four different colors, with the dark green ano being the selection outfitted with a damascus blade instead of the standard 14C28N formula.

The Hyperpulse is listed as Coming Soon, so keep an eye to the sky (or whichever direction your new knives come from).
